It is purposed for use in community education environments, homeschool environments, traditional schooling environments, or as a supplemental and fun addition to any education program. A NOTE ABOUT ALL ONE COMMUNITY LESSON PLANS

The One Community lesson plans are intentionally designed for use in ANY educational environment and with ALL educational, cultural, religious/spiritual, and philosophical approaches to teaching and learning. They are designed without an ideological approach and specifically so they can be adapted to include the views, preferences, methodologies, and/or ideologies preferred by different parents and teachers.

For maximum flexibility and adaptation, they are also designed to be combined to teach multiple subjects at the same time. Doing this increases the creativity, effectiveness, and fun of your learning environment. Once we are on the property and operating our version of the complete school and Education for Life program, we will be adding video examples of how to combine the lessons. TEACHING ARTS AND TRADES WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF SHARING

The Arts

  • Draw a picture* of what sharing looks like and/or feels like to you.
  • Make up a dance* with 3 others and work together sharing ideas about choreography. Share your performance of your finished piece with a small audience. 
  • Take pictures of images* representing the four categories of sharing – Communication, Strategy, Contribution and Consensus. Share your pictures with your community.
  • Make a collage* reflecting what sharing means to you. Free share images* of your collage in digital and hard copies.
  • Shoot a short film* about the effects of sharing. Include ideas on the effects on a society when individuals do vs don’t share. Post your film on the internet. 
  • Write and produce an animated short film* about sharing. Make the film family friendly. Free share your film on the internet.
  • Create a world class commentary piece about sharing* from the artistic field of your choice from the violet bullets. Free share your finished piece.

Trades

  • With some peers, gather a variety of materials to share for creating a trade related project.* Sit together while you work on your creations and share the resources and work.
  • Participate in basket weaving and/or yarn work* with a group of others, and share materials and ideas to create a nice finished product.* 
  • Find 3 reference books on architecture. Mark down 5 examples from each book* that highlight the effect sharing had on the realization of beautiful buildings.
  • Investigate a trade from the green section and write a 3 to 5 page paper* about the ‘effects of sharing amongst coworkers in that field.
  • Investigate magicians or another profession that has a veil of secrecy. Make a video* explaining and telling stories on why they don’t share their secrets, getting 5+ professional in the field to share with you why this is. Free share your video on the internet.
  • Choose 4 trades from the indigo bullets and do a comparative analysis* on the relevance of the concept of sharing within these trades. Create an accessible way to free-share your results with the masses. 
  • Make a presentation* about the relevance and/or effects of sharing in your trade to a group of individuals interested in pursuing your trade.

TEACHING ENGLISH WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF SHARING

  • Read 3-5 books* about sharing and share the best of them with another person.
  • Write a story* whose theme is about the impacts of sharing. Read your story aloud* to a group of younger learners.

  • Organize and lead a group discussion* in your community about how the resources in your local environment are allocated and shared.

TEACHING HEALTH WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF SHARING

  • Share a healthy meal with your family or community and have a group discussion about the nutrition you are receiving from the food you are eating.*
  • Demonstrate your flexibility to learn new things and adapt to change by participating in an activity where you have to share your time in 3 ways you are not used to. After the activity talk to an expert about your experience.*
  • Read 5 books about what humanity’s connection to animals/the environment looks like when it is healthy. Write a 1 to 3 page paper* about what you learned on how humans and animals share resources on the planet.
  • Choose an outdoor adventure that requires you and a few others to share responsibility for each other’s well being and plan and execute the experience.*
  • Observe your self and others practicing empathy. For a week, journal about the moments where you notice sharing being practiced as part of being empathetic. Present your observations to a group of your peers.*
  • Choose 5 bullets from the indigo section and write a 5-10 page research paper* on the impact sharing has on these health aspects. Free share your paper.
  • Lead a workshop on sharing and health.* Have participants experience different ways that sharing impacts their well being. After the workshop have them share their experience in a survey. Open source the results of the survey.

TEACHING MATH WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF SHARING

  • With 1-2 other people, gather marbles, stones or something else that you can count and share the materials equally with each other. Count how many you have total; and then count how many each of you get when you divide them up.*
  • Practice fractions in a fun way that involves equal and unequal sharing of something big and round like a pizza, mud pie, or giant cookie.*
  • Find worksheets on analyzing patterns and relationships. Make copies of the sheets and give them to two others. Share your solving strategies with 2 others who are also doing the work.*
  • Develop probability models on the odds of sharing something equally amongst strangers when in a life threatening situation.
  • Interpret linear models and create two separate presentations to share your ideas to both experts and non experts in math.
  • Choose a bullet from the indigo level. Apply the chosen concept to real life situations that can be shared in a way that brings a positive contribution to society.

TEACHING SCIENCE WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF SHARING

Life Sciences

  • Explore an environment that has plants and notice how they share the earth with humans. Talk with an expert about how plants share the earth resources with humans in order to stay alive.*
  • Create a scenario* about the stages of life and how people in different stages can share their individual levels of experience and ideas to help the community be a thriving environment for everyone.
  • Research how plants share resources and/or information. Write a 2 page paper about how they share with other organisms involved in this process.
  • Create a 3 dimensional visual* of your body as a machine that shows the interconnectedness of the body’s systems and how all the parts share in the responsibility of keeping a person alive.
  • Write a report* on DNA and genetics that focuses on the concept of shared traits. Use your own family or another family you know as an example of the concept of shared DNA and similarities in physical appearance.*
  • Find different ways scientists classify living things. Create a list of qualities these systems of classification share in common. Develop your own way of classifying living things that shares similarities to the other ways but is unique. Free share your classification system.*
  • Conduct an experiment* on population fluctuations. Look for patterns that share similarities and include these observations to create a 5+ page report. Use the results of your report* to make recommendations regarding the fluctuations and free share your results.
  • Choose a life science field from the violet level bullets and write a dissertation* about how scientists from all over the world do/could share ideas and results of specific experiments in that life science field, in a way that improves quality of life for earth inhabitants.

Physical Sciences

  • Find at least 3 different materials*. Study how each material functions by itself and with each other.* Share your ideas on what you see with at least 2 other people.*
  • Do an experiment* with magnets looking at how the connections are dependent on sharing energy. Talk to an expert* about your results. Relate your findings to your own life and how people share magnetic energy with each other. 
  • Read an age appropriate textbook about heat. Write a 3 to 5 page report specifically about shared heat. Look into subjects such as how matches work and how sharing a small flame can create big heat sources. Present your findings to experts and open source your paper.*
  • Create and perform an experiment* involving chemical changes and shared reactions. Record* any patterns of shared changes that occur amongst the different chemicals and open source and share your results.
  • Make a presentation* about conservation of energy and the sharing of resources. Include ideas for your community on how to collectively share maximum energy with minimal negative impact. Implement* any of the ideas that can be applied in a reasonable process and free share the process and end results. 
  • Research* nuclear forces and how they can affect humanity. Write a hypothesis* focusing on the global sharing of these forces in a positive way. Design* an experiment to test your hypothesis and find a safe environment to conduct it in. Open source your results.
  • Choose a violet level bullet and develop a theory on it that will benefit society*. Make a social media campaign* to share your idea with the public and find others who believe in the theory and work together to see if you prove your hypothesis. Apply your findings to your community* and open source the entire project.

Earth Sciences

  • Draw a picture* how the weather could influence what and how people share. An example could be a group under one tree in a hot desert or a group of people huddled around a fire.
  • Read 5 nonfiction books/articles on natural resources, focusing on sections about usage/sharing. Write a book report* on what you learned about sharing of those natural resources and include pictures you make.
  • Create a diorama* of the solar system. Be sure it shows how the planets, stars and other entities share the universe and any resources some share.
  • Create a project* that demonstrates the idea of land masses sharing the earth and plate tectonics. Be sure to show if and how allocation and distribution of elements influences the movement of land. Open source your project.
  • Create a hypothesis about fusion on earth or in space and sharing.* Investigate ways to vet your idea and find experts in the field to share your ideas with. Blog* about your hypothesis, your experiments on it, and what the experts think about it.
  • Write a thesis* about features of the ocean floor. Include a section on sharing of the elements and influences this has on magnetic patterns and topography. In the conclusion add your opinion on how this information affects humanity and free share your ideas.*
  • Research ways of gaining meteorological information and the present system for sharing this information around the globe. Lead a live on the internet discussion with meteorologists and media people on ways the present system works and ways it can be improved.*

Technology

  • Collect tools* from your family and friends and then share them with 2 people to create something.
  • Find someone knowledgeable in how simple things work around your community and have them share with you their knowledge so you gain enough understanding to tell your family how those things work, then tell your family.*
  • With a parent or guardian, explore social media sites and compare the level of personal sharing that occurs on each site. Create a list* of these sites in order of the ones with the most sharing opportunities first.
  • Find an expert in one of the fields in the green bullets and have them share their knowledge with you. Write a follow up report for that expert about what you learned and ask for corrections, and include how their sharing the material with you was as a learning experience. 
  • Apply the concepts of sharing in waste management and recycling systems. Create an infomercial* about this subject and free share it on the internet.
  • Choose at least 5 leaders identified in the indigo section of the technology molecule. Write and publish* an article highlighting the accomplishments of these individuals and how they shared their knowledge for the highest good of all.
  • Develop a new technology* that encourages individuals and communities to practice the value of sharing.

  • Have a discussion* with 3 different grown ups about strategy ideas for sharing things when you don’t really want to share.
  • Come up with a cognitive and emotional strategy for accepting the necessity of contributing “your fair share” to activities that you may not want to do but that you have a commitment to do for the highest good of all, like chores. Spend a week practicing these strategies and share your experience with a grown up.*
  • Identify your belief structures on sharing your time, your goods, and your services. Write a 1 page paper* on what you discover about yourself. 
  • Research* leadership and fair allocation of goods and services. Find a place in your community where you can experience being the leader and do so. Write a follow up paper of your experience.*
  • Choose a system from the blue bullets. Find at least 10 articles or chapters in texts that discuss in what ways sharing relates to the system. Write a comparative essay* discussing similarities and difference on how sharing is part of these systems.
  • Choose 5 innovators from the indigo bullets. Research their leadership style and philosophy on sharing goods and services. Create a presentation* that explains and contrasts each leader’s style, and share your opinion on what works and what doesn’t. Video and free share your presentation. 
  • Conduct research* on philanthropic organizations and focus on their philosophies of giving, taking and sharing. Taking the information you learned, develop a business plan* for creating your own philanthropic organization and define what the philosophies of giving, taking and sharing for you group will be.*
