A NOTE ABOUT ALL ONE COMMUNITY LESSON PLANS

The One Community lesson plans are intentionally designed for use in ANY educational environment and with ALL educational, cultural, religious/spiritual, and philosophical approaches to teaching and learning. They are designed without an ideological approach and specifically so they can be adapted to include the views, preferences, methodologies, and/or ideologies preferred by different parents and teachers.

For maximum flexibility and adaptation, they are also designed to be combined to teach multiple subjects at the same time. Doing this increases the creativity, effectiveness, and fun of your learning environment. Once we are on the property and operating our version of the complete school and Education for Life program, we will be adding video examples of how to combine the lessons. In the meantime, visit the Teaching Strategies page for a list of suggestions.

The Arts

  • Make a collage* from materials that represent you, to express your self awareness of who you think you are.
  • Create a dance* about discovering self awareness and consciousness.
  • Paint* an abstract representation of your own consciousness.
  • Make a sculpture* that represents developing consciousness.
  • Practice consciousness and mindfulness while baking* 3 types of baked goods you feel would take the most conscious effort, and 3 that you feel would take the least. With every step be mindful of the process. Serve your baked goods to 5 others and discuss your conscious baking experience with them.
  • Choose an artistic expression style from the Indigo level and create a piece within that style that represents consciousness. Display and/or share *this piece in a public venue.
  • Create a performance art piece* about consciousness. Videotape it and share it on social networks.

consciousness-trades-theme-icon

Trades

  • Talk to 5 people about what consciousness is and then communicate* back to each of them what they taught you.
  • Write a speech* about consciousness and present it to a small group.
  • Find 5 trades that you feel especially need conscious people to do them. Write a paragraph* on each trade explaining how consciousness is or is not important to that line of work.
  • Write a 3 page paper* on how and/or why or why not people need to apply consciousness to their work, giving at least 5 examples of what happens when consciousness is absent from a trade.
  • Use consciousness tools/techniques (i.e. meditation), to define at least 3 possible career courses for you. Write a paper* explaining how you gained the consciousness, what information came to you, and how you can pursue those trades further now that you are aware of your internal connection to them.
  • Give a presentation* to others in a trade you are developing in on how consciousness helps you in your daily work.
  • As a master in a trade, or by researching and/or interviewing masters, write a tutorial on how an individual can raise their consciousness while working in your field.

  • Do a consciousness raising activity* that requires intentional breathing by counting at least 30 breaths out loud during the exhale phase. Then repeat the activity, this time counting in reverse. Discuss* your experience and what, if any, difference this brought to your awareness of your breathing.
  • Gain an understanding of the concept of angles by creating a Sierpinski triangle*. While designing the triangles for this fractal, practice consciously deciding how each triangle will look.
  • Develop an understanding of statistical variables by conducting a self study on consciousness raising activities. Choose an activity (such as meditation) and then choose “distraction” variables such as music, loud noise, or silence. Record the statistics of how often the variable affected your consciousness activity. Create 3 formats* of visual mathematical representations of your results.
  • Compare a group of people who do consciousness raising activities with a group that doesn’t. Hypothesize on 5-10 possible correlations you believe will be true about each group in comparison to each other, test the differences/conclusions, and then graph* and share* your results.
  • Write a paper* arguing how consciousness either is or is not critical in the field of mathematics and open share your finished work.
  • Use mathematics in project planning and project management. Write a reflection paper* on how your consciousness affected your use of the applied math.
  • Use your consciousness to take a bullet from the https://www.onecommunityglobal.org/math/#math violet section math molecule and develop* it as far as you can.

  • Explore any relationships between global consciousness and the solar system. Write a 10 page report* on your findings, including theories and any validated scientific information.
  • Investigate natural disasters and write an open source booklet* guiding the readers how to “use consciousness” to better survive these unexpected events.

Innovation

  • Practice* a consciousness activity, such as meditation, that you think will help you learn about and understand awareness. Talk about your experience and what you liked about it.
  • Practice your creativity skills by using your consciousness to develop a new consciousness raising activity.
  • Study 5 different consciousness raising activities including breathing, centering and relaxation techniques. Develop your own technique or combination* and teach 5 others how to use your unique tool to raise their consciousness.
  • Read three resources on ‘systems strategies’ and then develop and begin to use a personal system strategy* to raise your consciousness and improve your learning skills. Write a 3 page paper about your strategy and results.
  • Choose a system from the blue section of Innovation. Prepare a speech about applying consciousness within that system. Present the speech* to professionals in that field.
  • Study a group of innovators. Create an open source multi-media presentation* about how these creative thinkers applied consciousness to create their new ideas. Get your presentation to ‘go viral’.
  • Develop a line of consciousness based motivational and inspirational products, services, and/or brands* that empower millions of people to change their lives.

* Please note that anything with an asterisk is just a suggestion. The diversity of options with asterisks are interchangeable and purposed to stimulate your own ideas. Any one of these suggestions could be replaced with a written paper, any form of art project (drawing, painting, music, paper mache, clay, wood, knitting/embroidery, metals, etc. etc.), an experiment, a presentation, a mindmap, a computer program, a web design project, a piece of poetry or a song, an interpretive dance or play, a group project, or anything else. What we feel is most important is that both the Learner and the Teacher agree on an exercise/activity they both feel would be maximally engaging, fun, and effective. If you come up with an idea we haven’t already thought of, please share it with us.
