Many people say they want a more sustainable planet and a better quality of life for themselves and others, but how does a person actually achieve this? What does this mean for different people and how do we provide for the diversity of different ideas different people have?
Over 15 years of research and planning have gone into designing an answer called “One Community.” It is our belief that humanity is inherently empathic and desiring to do the right thing for themselves, the earth, and their fellow humans. We also feel the primary barrier for being living examples of this is people’s fear of not being able to meet their own foundational needs. With this in mind, One Community has evolved as a growing team of over 50 pioneers, partners, and consultants designing a path to far exceed the foundational needs of people while also helping the entire human organism, our planet, and all life on it.
We’re passionate because we see just one working model that provides the right path for duplication as having the ability to become self-replicating. Over a period of a few decades, exponential growth of the model has the potential to transform life on this planet for everyone. The One Community foundations we are focusing on to facilitate this are:
The future we envision with a creation like One Community is a world of collaboration for The Highest Good of All built from a global cooperative of self-sustainable teacher/demonstration communities, villages, and cities. These teacher/demonstration hubs will demonstrate people living lives that include more time to do the things they love to do and little or no bills because they are built on ultra-affordable and sustainable infrastructure. The affordability of the lifestyle coupled with an internal culture of working together to create an enhanced and more fulfilling lifestyle are what we see these teacher/demonstration hubs purposed primarily to teach and share. Our goal is to help lead and organize the initial creation of these through a working example providing an open source archive of tools, tutorial, and resources for duplication of all aspects including food infrastructure, energy infrastructure, housing infrastructure, an education model, a social architecture and recreation model, a self-governance strategy, a functioning resource based economy, earth regenerative practices, for-profit and non-profit business infrastructure, and more. Combining these things in one place will create a place we see people wanting to visit and duplicate.
Our duplicable food infrastructure is designed to provide food that is produced on-site so it is fresh, grown without chemicals so it is organic, and more diverse than what people find in the grocery store because it is grown as part of our open source botanical garden model.
Our duplicable energy infrastructure is designed to eliminate power bills, be a source of revenue for those still connected to the grid, and built to evolve and grow with the evolution and expansion of new technologies too.
Our duplicable housing infrastructure is designed to be do-it-yourself construction with the help of our blueprints and open source resources, more affordable because of the sustainable materials we use and the partnerships we are building, and longer lasting than traditional homes.
Our duplicable education model is designed for all ages, built to exceed traditional educational standards, and modifiable for application in a homeschooling environment, a traditional schooling environment, or for use as a complete community-based private schooling program.
Our duplicable for-profit and non-profit business infrastructure is designed to function for The Highest Good of All, help make the communities, villages, and cities profitable for their inhabitants and/or investors, and to further share and spread the teacher/demonstration model globally.
Our duplicable social architecture and recreation model is designed to provide on-site activity diversity that is superior to most metropolitan areas. Additionally, we will have more time to enjoy these activities and built-in structures for maintaining and evolving it all.
Our duplicable stewardship practices are good for people, the planet, and financial viability. They include everything from lifestyle considerations, to Earth-regenerative practices, resource-based economy implementation, and more.
One Community is everything above and more and it is being designed to be duplicated as either individual components or complete teacher/demonstration hubs that help create more teacher/demonstration hubs. It is all open source so people can take and use what they want, how they want, without limitations of copyright or patents of any kind. Most importantly, it is being created so people can participate in a diversity of ways to make this happen faster either through partnership, membership, or even just internet participation.
This is what One Community is creating and we are already also preparing for the next step which is supporting this duplication and further growing the global open source archive. Because our blueprint is focused on self-propagation, and not just establishing One Community, we are also building the marketing and collaboration infrastructure to support the entire first wave of teacher/demonstration communities, villages, and cities. We believe a broad diversity of models will be launched almost simultaneously with One Community and we are growing our marketing engine to support these communities. We are also months into developing the necessary software to coordinate our internal efforts with the internal efforts of other communities so we can more efficiently work together to provide even more open source blueprints, tools, tutorials, resources, and data.
The 100% unpaid volunteer One Community team sees no higher purpose than creating this new life model for a new world. We want this and we believe other people want it to. Creating it now, we are excited to already see people’s desire increasing as we demonstrate even more benefits for them, their communities, and the planet. These benefits include personal and social benefits, financial benefits, ecological benefits, and more. Most importantly, everything we are doing is being created with a philosophy and dedicated consciousness for The Highest Good of All. One of our biggest expressions of this is open source creation of everything we know is necessary for duplication of all we do as either individual components or as complete teacher/demonstration communities, villages, and cities. In this way, people can use what they want and not use what they don’t want, and we see any aspect of One Community that people choose to duplicate as still moving humanity and our planet in the right direction.
Q: What sets One Community apart from similar projects?
One Community's open source project-launch blueprinting strategy and the fact that we are open sourcing and addressing ALL elements of society simultaneously are a combination unique to our organization. Together, these will help others duplicate what we do and create self-propagating teacher/demonstration communities, villages, and cities capable of positively impacting every single person on this planet within one generation.
Q: What sets One Community's open source goals apart from similar projects?
To our knowledge, no other project exists that is providing the comprehensive nature and detail of everything we are open source project-launch blueprinting.
Q: What is the specific One Community short-term goal?
Q: What is the ultimate One Community long-term goal?
To transform our world into a sustainable and happier one through teacher/demonstration communities, villages, and cities to be built all over the world. We will work with these hubs as our open source partners and fellow leaders of the open source, Highest Good of All, and sustainable planet movement leading to a New Golden Age of cooperation, collaboration, innovation, creativity, sustainable living, and increased happiness for the entire human organism.
Q: How is One Community funded?
We are still seeking funding. Please see our Funding Related Details Page.
Q: Where will One Community be located and why?
Click HERE for property details that include why we have chosen the location we have.
Q: How far is One Community in the creation process?
Q: Why not just build a small-scale prototype home or community that includes a minimum-scale revenue-generating demonstration/operation? Wouldn't this get things going faster?
This already exists as Airbnb and people are doing amazing with it, so small-scale operations are not what we see as missing. What we see as missing is a complete model for self-sufficiency that is open source and reasonably replicable. Even complete models for self-sufficiency already exist in the form of the many eco-villages out there, what none of those offer though is any sort of understanding and/or path for how average people with average means can replicate them. We also think there isn’t enough of a compelling reason for most people to bother with changing how they live now to engage such a path/project, so our project is purposed to provide and demonstrate that too.
From a total global-change perspective though, we think it is even more important to create a permanent place dedicated to open source and capable of providing for the complete needs of hundreds of people working on open source creations full-time, with enough revenue generation and space for expansion to grow to over a 1000+ full-time volunteers while also being able to support the establishment of other open source teacher/demonstration/R&D hubs around the world. This is why the intended property, village models, and social architecture and economic focuses are all big.
To support faster and broader implementation while working on these big goals, we are also taking the extra time necessary to develop everything so it is modular and also implementable as individual components. This will allow for anyone who doesn’t desire the full teacher/demonstration hub approach to have options too, but our primary goal is to demonstrate the complete teacher/demonstration hub as easy enough, affordable enough, and attractive enough for average people with average means to want to replicate it and/or use what we provide to build their own version.
Q: If you are giving everything away through open source, how do you intend to make money?
Our model is designed to prosper specifically because we are giving everything away through open source project-launch blueprinting. We accomplish this through eco-tourism marketed with the open source infrastructure we have already created and other supported revenue streams outlined on our revenue streams page. All of this further promotes our model of spreading sustainability and actively promoting and distributing even more open source blueprints for duplication by as many people as possible.
Q: How will this help people in Third World countries and other areas where resources are needed most?
Using the four-phase strategy above, we wish to demonstrate building a teacher/demonstration community, village, and/or city as profitable for large investors and/or a way for small groups of people to pool what resources they have and get out of debt. We see this spreading and bringing resources to the areas that need them most because building these villages in these areas will be more affordable and easier to do with less building restrictions.
Q: How do you stop the model from being totally capitalized without the positive intent of the original model?
We are not focused on putting limitations on the use of everything we are creating because of our open source commitment. We will, however, directly support any organization contributing specifically to open source project-launch blueprinting and operating for The Highest Good of All.
Q: Where would I find a more detailed description of how this works?
