One Community is advancing the standard of living by providing a path for people to do-it-yourself create the standard of living that they want. One Community is advancing the standard of living through Highest Good education that is for all ages, applicable in any environment, adaptable to individual needs, far exceeds traditional education standards, and more fun for both the teachers and the students:
This last week the core team finished 50% of the Spring-themed lesson plan webpage that teaches all subjects to all learning levels in the context of the central theme of “Spring”:
And we completed the first 60% of the images and descriptions for the English Subject page:
One Community is advancing the standard of living through Highest Good food that is more diverse, more nutritious, locally grown and sustainable, and part of our open source botanical garden model to support and share bio-diversity:
This last week the core team finished adding the diversity details to the heirloom and organic Turnips section of the large-scale gardening page. We added 9 and featured the only two that had enough available online information to create feature details:
We also completed the details for Oca, an Andes root vegetable that looks like the 10 you see featured here. Click the image to visit the page with complete cultural considerations, planting guidelines, and sourcing and purchasing details.
One Community is advancing the standard of living through Highest Good housing that is artistic and beautiful, more affordable, more space efficient, lasts longer, DIY buildable, and constructed with healthy and sustainable materials:
This last week the core team began measuring and inventorying all the components of the Murphy bed furniture design for the earthbag village domes. What you see here is the first 25% of this process for the end cabinets that will then prepare us to create detailed wood and parts purchasing lists, building instructions, and then, as part of our upcoming crowdfunding campaign, complete finished examples, timelapse videos, and video construction tutorials. Here is a collage of what we’ve completed so far:
Related to the crowdfunding campaign, we also added lodging and camping option details to our crowdfunding campaign webpage:
Amira Kessem (Mechanical Engineering Student in Israel) also finished several weeks of research into traditional plasters that you can see posted in it’s raw form on our new open source plaster page. We’ve also added the beginnings of eco and natural plaster details compliments of Scott Howard (Sustainable Building Expert and Owner of Earthen Hand Natural Building). Click this image to be taken to the page being being created that already hosts much of this information:
One Community is advancing the standard of living through a Duplicable and Sustainable City Center that is LEED Platinum certified/Sustainable, can feed 200 people at a time, provide laundry for over 300 people, is beautiful, spacious, and saves resources, money, and space:
This last week the core team added another 30 seconds of scenes to the Duplicable City Center construction in 3-D video that showcases over 2 years of 3-D design work. Here it is with a series of additional still images acting as fillers at the end of the video to show the earlier development of this structure while we continue to work on the rest of the 3-D video components:
We also continued our exploration and analysis of heat pump efficiency and benefits. What you see here is a chart of the benefits of a specific heat pump we are evaluating when used in combination with a solar water heater, heat exchanger re-capturing heat from used shower water, or other method. It is comparing this to a tankless water heater. The bottom of this chart is the incoming water temperature using one of the pre-mentioned methods and the Coefficient of Performance on the left is how many more times the energy efficiency is of the heat pump versus the tankless water heater. Visit our open source sustainable water heating page for more explanation of this image:
One Community is advancing the standard of living through a Highest Good society approach to living that is founded on fulfilled living, the study of meeting human needs, Community, and making a difference in the world:
This last week the core team finished a new win-win page showing all the areas One Community is currently working on and sharing how we define creating win-win collaborative partnerships:
.
We also updated our core value of Spirituality page that discusses One Community’s diversity focused and non-ideological approach to spirituality and how we use this value in our decision making process:
