One Community believes the designs of the future will be more cost effective, last longer, and built from resources that are readily available. We are operating a non-profit and for The Highest Good of All sustainability think tank to demonstrate and build 7 different communal living mini-village models to demonstrate this. They will each contain 15-100 residences and function as examples and prototypes for self-sufficient and duplicable teacher/demonstration communities, villages and cities to be built around the world. Our open source creation includes Highest Good food, energy, housing, Highest Good for-profit and non-profit business models, an education model, a Highest Good society model, resource based economy implementation, and more. Most importantly, it is designed to provide a standard of living and experience of life itself that we feel most will consider far superior to what they are experiencing now. Here is our progress update (#23) covering our accomplishments for the week of July 29th, 2013.

The zen aquapini (zenapini) designs will represent two very different internal environments. Zenapini #1 will be the Cloud Forest House. This ecosystem is characterized by high humidity (50-80%) and cooler temperatures than tropical regions (55-80 degrees F). This week we completed selection and mapping of all the plants that will be added to this structure. We’ll add these plants here and update the design drawing over the next couple weeks.
The earthbag architecture village (Pod 1) is the first of the seven different sustainable village models to be built because we believe it will be the most affordable and easy to duplicate. It’s purpose from a future design perspective is maximally affordable housing. This week we’ve finished up to about the 2/3rds point for the cost analysis details that we will be posting on the Earthbag Village Materials Costs Page as soon as they are complete and we’ve double checked all the details.
The straw bale construction village (Pod 2) is a teacher/demonstration community, village, and city model purposed for open source project-launch blueprinting and building modularly expandable sustainable housing designs for the future. One Community will begin building this village as soon as the earthbag village (Pod 1) is complete and we just brought on a partner (details coming soon) that has begun working on putting this village into 3D for us.
We’ve completed the first renderings of the earthbag village natural greywater processing system. Complete page dedicated to the evolving details of these designs is coming this week.
Here’s the updated SEGO Center 3D progress discussed in the video.
