One Community is developing sustainable, modifiable, and adaptable community building through Highest Good education that is for all ages, applicable in any environment, adaptable to individual needs, far exceeds traditional education standards, and more fun for both the teachers and the students:
This last week the core team finished another 30% of the Harmony Lesson Plan webpage, bringing us to 40% complete there:
We also researched and added another huge group of resources to our open source and free-shared on-line education resources archive (now containing nearly 100 resources) and including the graphic below that we feel really does a beautiful job of describing why One Community is creating open source lesson plans and all the other all-ages all-subjects components of the Highest Good Education program:
Behind the scenes we also created a web-design tutorial for those interested in helping us with the Lesson Plans for Life components.
One Community is developing sustainable, modifiable, and adaptable community building through Highest Good food that is more diverse, more nutritious, locally grown and sustainable, and part of our open source botanical garden model to support and share bio-diversity:
This last week the core team finished adding the diversity details to the Bitter melon section of the large-scale gardening page where we featured the 4 you see here along with purchasing details, cultural considerations, and planting guidelines:
We also added the ah-cha-cha Achocha, also known as the “Bolivian Cucumber,” to the site:
One Community is developing sustainable, modifiable, and adaptable community building through Highest Good housing that is artistic and beautiful, more affordable, more space efficient, lasts longer, DIY buildable, and constructed with healthy and sustainable materials:
This last week the core team completed another 30% of the earthbag construction footers, foundation, and flooring tutorial page you see below. This brings us to about 70% of the way complete with this page. The tool section is done, excavation section is done, the footer section is done, the foundation section is done, and now all that remains is final editing and picture and video additions to the flooring and FAQ sections. This is all part of our developing crowdfunding campaign and the world image you see repeating is where we’ll be adding extensive tutorial videos as part of that campaign:
Related to this and behind the scenes, we’ve also finished the tools and initial outline of the electrical details page that will eventually look just like the one above. That page is now 10% done.
Also behind the scenes, we completed another 15% of the total energy infrastructure rollout details for off-grid community creation for 50-400+ people, bringing us to 75% complete there.
And we finished the measurements and parts details for the rest of the Murphy bed dome-home furniture design. The picture here is from our GoogleDocs in-progress. It is truly just a tiny snapshot and fraction of the actual document which is HUGE… taking the custom furniture designs by Philip Gill (Interior and Furniture Designer and Owner of Philip Gill Design) for the earthbag village domes and dome home crowdfunding campaign and preparing them all for complete do-it-yourself building and assembly instructions:
One Community is developing sustainable, modifiable, and adaptable community building through a Duplicable and Sustainable City Center that is LEED Platinum certified/Sustainable, can feed 200 people at a time, provide laundry for over 300 people, is beautiful, spacious, and saves resources, money, and space:
This last week the core team completed another 30 seconds of the Duplicable City Center 3-D video. Now that we’re near the end of the video is it focusing on sharing the beautiful details of this structure to give people a perspective of what it will be like to walk around in it. Here is the video completed as far as we’ve gotten it done thus far:
We also updated the complete Duplicable City Center open source hub with the video, our newly completed CAD floor plan (updated compliments of Karl Harris of Harris Design & Technology Services), and a sizable bunch of additions to the page’s FAQ section:
Behind the scenes we completing another 10% of the control systems research bringing us to 90% total completion of the exploration of all the software and hardware options available for monitoring, management, and automation of everything from energy and water to internet usage. We’ve shown pictures of this action item in past weeks and hope to start creating the final and professional open source resource in the next couple of weeks.
One Community is developing sustainable, modifiable, and adaptable community building through a Highest Good society approach to living that is founded on fulfilled living, the study of meeting human needs, Community, and making a difference in the world:
This last week the core team completely rewrote our Welcome to the Team page. The purpose of this page and rewrite being to even better clarify the expectations and desires of both One Community and all our collaborative partners so we can create massive win-win relationships as people join our team. This is all part of a major push our organization is completing to put in place the infrastructure necessary to more efficiently welcome and work with more and more people… a building process we are actively engaging like never before and expect to accelerate dramatically with our crowdfunding campaign.
